Our case studies demonstrate how Seris Forest Analytics translates forest science, policy, and real-world conditions into strategic guidance for our partners.
Seris Forest Analytics is supporting the development and launch of a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)-sponsored digital platform that will provide forest landowners, wood product producers, and wood product consumers with authoritative data and methods to quantify forest carbon in ecosystems and harvested wood products across the value chain. This work includes:
- Contributing to methodology development for the Forest Flux Tools, with specific oversight of the Default Carbon Inventory Tool.
- Serving on the Methodology Review Panel for the Forest Flux Tools
- Contributing to science synthesis products and advancing conversations around where future investments in research and tool functionality should be made.
- Supporting the overall delivery of the website, including producing underlying documentation, user testing, and public outreach.
Seris Forest Analytics supports NAFO’s strategic policy, data, and advocacy needs by assisting in the translation of forest and climate information into clear, defensible positions for national and international audiences. We help NAFO navigate complex technical data, anticipate international reporting pressures, and advocate effectively for the sustainability and credibility of U.S. private forest management. Examples of this work include analysis of FAO standards for national forest monitoring systems and alignment with the U.S. Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) Program and technical consultation on U.S. reporting to the FAO Forest Resources Assessment and implications for EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) benchmarking.
